Courtney is in her early 20s, living on Universal Credit in private rented accommodation with her two-year-old son. She didn’t have any family members living near or any other means of financial support. A key goal for Courtney was to stay in her own home but after falling behind with her rent, this was becoming quite a worry.
Courtney was offered a one off grant to help pay the small amount of arrears she had accumulated and also budgeting advice. This prevented her tenancy from being put at risk and improved her sense of well-being.
